Lian Heng Food Stall Toa Payoh Mee Siam
This corner stall is located in Toa Payoh Blk 127 – my favourite hawker centre where they sell the overrated Cheng San Carrot cake and the teochew pao. I pass y the stall many times but always saw a long queue and not sure what they selling. Last Sunday went to eat Ah Piaw Mee Pok and realized they have closed down (need to track them down) and saw this stall has no queue and told my wife lets give it a try. As usual, my wife eat anything I ordered. The stall sell Laksa, Lor Mee, Prawn Mee and Mee Rebus. I look around and there are many tables ordered the mee siam – so I thought it may be good.
Turn up – yes it is good ! The sauce is very well done with a pinch of lime juice and the asam and the chili paste is well cooked. It is old school styles – not too spicy or sweet. I must say it is very well balance – spiciness / Sweetness, and sourly taste. I enjoy the mee siam very much. We also ordered the Prawn Mee – very bland and normal!
