Needless to introduce much this one of the big 4 BKT in Spore (the other 3 are Ng Ah Suay, Song Ji and Ah Hua).  The original stall is at Balestier Road.  This stall is opened and operated by the son-in law.

They offer 2 types of ba ku – the 小排骨 or 肉骨。小排骨 at higher price and comes with 2 pieces only while 肉骨 comes with 3 – 4 pieces.  The soup is better than Ng Ah Suay stall.  After taking over by the Jumbo group, I no longer like to eat at Ng Ah Suay stall as I find that they are now becomes a franchise and the towkay already cash out and the boss seems to be not really bothered much about the quality like before.  There is always a price to pay when you expanded too fast.  For Founder BKT – the quality is still very much controlled by the bosses (FIL and SIL).

This is the BKT stall that you can have it anytime of the day (from 7 am to 9 pm) – long hours !!  They are manned by the family members and on weekdays – their children also came to the stall helping papa and mama.

It is the typical Teochew style BKT – the soup is clear with no herbs.  However, I find that the soup is a bit bland as compared to to the big 4 (Ah Hua, Ng Ah Suay, Song Ji and Fa Qi Ren).

The ter kah (pig trotter) is much better than the BKT.  I have seen quite a number of old uncle just ordered the ter kah and not the BKT.  Overall, I will not be a fan of this stall especially the hawker centre is very old and dirty and the cleaning aunties are super inefficient in clearing the tables – and forever grumbling !
