Hong Heng Beef Noodle Soup & Laksa
This stall is “hiding” in a pretty deep inside the hawker centre of Ave 1. If you know where the famous Meiban crab noodles is, the hawker centre is further down from the crab noodles of about another 200 metres.
I frequent the fish head steamboat stall at the coffee shop next to the hawker centre, which shared the same name of the very famous Serangoon stall. I will do a separate review of the fish head steamboat stall soon.
For now, lets chat about Hong Heng Beef Noodles. I have ordered the dry version which come with generous beef slices. I added the tenderloin (which is my favorite) and the beef balls too. The gravy is quite tasty and not too salty. Certainly better than those serve in the food court. The beef slices are not as tender I wish it to be. The chili and soup are pretty good. Overall, it is passable and if you are a beef noodle fan, it is acceptable but not excellent. (p.s I still miss those authentic Hainanese Beef Noodles at the old Odean coffee shop.)
